SPRING 2025 – Maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle is crucial for seniors, and the Manhattan Community Health Foundation is supporting this through a grant to the Manhattan Senior Center of Riley County.
The Senior Center offers a variety of fitness classes designed to improve physical well-being, increase strength and flexibility, and reduce the risk of falls. These classes also provide a valuable social outlet for seniors, combating isolation and promoting community engagement.
“Fitness classes at the Manhattan Senior Center of Riley County have helped restore significant movement and strength to my hands. I couldn’t turn a regular doorknob before, but now I’m strong enough to do it.”
Dot McIntire, Member, Manhattan Senior Center of Riley County
This grant will provide scholarships to low-income seniors, covering a significant portion of the cost of fitness memberships. MCHF is proud to partner with the Senior Center to promote healthy aging and ensure that seniors in our community have the opportunity to stay active and connected.
