SPRING 2025 – Encouraging youth to embrace active lifestyles, the Sunset Composite Mountain Bike Team provides opportunities for local students to get involved in cycling, with a boost from a recent Manhattan Community Health Foundation grant.
“Sunset Composite NICA Team is the premier mountain biking team for 6th–12th graders in the Greater Manhattan, KS area. We welcome riders of all backgrounds and abilities to join the adventure, stay active, and have fun! Our mission is to build strong bodies, strong minds, and strong character through the sport of mountain biking. We’re proud to be supported by the Manhattan Community Health Foundation—partners who share our commitment to a healthier, more active community. Their generous support helps us ensure that every current and future athlete has access to the resources they need, making mountain biking more inclusive and accessible for all students.”
Kevin Murdock, Executive Director, Sunset Composite Mountain Bike Club
This grant will contribute to the purchase of essential equipment, such as a team trailer, and the development of resources to provide financial assistance to riders. MCHF’s support will help ensure that more youth in our community can experience the benefits of cycling, regardless of their financial situation.
