Announces Grant Recipients for Youth Nutrition, Mental Health, Senior Wellness, and Youth Cycling

SPRING 2025 Manhattan, KS – Demonstrating its ongoing commitment to a healthier Manhattan, the Manhattan Community Health Foundation (MCHF) has awarded a total of $4,000 through its Community Health and Wellness Awareness Program grants to four local organizations. The MCHF annually provides grants up to $1,000 to support initiatives that promote health and wellness awareness in the Manhattan area. 

Exemplifying its role as a catalyst for a healthier Manhattan, MCHF is committed to creating strategies that positively impact healthcare delivery and promote sustainable access to wellness for all in our region. This year, four local organizations will each receive $1,000 to further their valuable work in the community. The grant recipients are:

Key Highlights

  • Boys & Girls Club of Manhattan – To support the “Empowering Youth Through Nutrition” program, providing healthy meals and snacks to youth during the summer months.
  • Light MHK – To increase access to mental health services by providing direct service grants to providers who serve uninsured or underinsured individuals.
  • Manhattan Senior Center of Riley County – To fund fitness scholarships for low-income seniors, promoting physical well-being and social engagement.
  • Sunset Composite Mountain Bike Team – To support the team’s efforts to engage youth in cycling, including the purchase of a team trailer and equipment, and to provide financial assistance to participants.

The Community Health and Wellness Awareness Program supports a range of activities, including education and outreach, community events, capacity building, and innovative solutions to health challenges.   

The Manhattan Community Health Foundation also announces that the deadline for the next round of Community Health and Wellness Awareness Program grant applications is July 18, 2025.
