What motivates you to be a part of our community’s health and wellness? Manhattan, as far as I am concerned, does a fantastic job of delivering services to the underserved. Health and wellness is so important to us all and especially to the underserved or hard to reach. I am proud to say that and be a part of that initiative.
Can you share a specific story that illustrates how this foundation has made a difference? I have a friend that I am so proud of. She took legal responsibility for her younger siblings. She used one of the Community Health Foundation’s scholarships to study to become a CNA. She is now in nursing school and supporting herself and a sibling still at home. She has fulfilled her dream of owning a house and looks forward to being employed by Ascension as a full-time nurse.
When you envision the future of healthcare in Manhattan, what do you hope it looks like? I would like Manhattan to provide more specialized services. A cancer care center would be a great start. I am betting on the fact that Manhattan being a wonderful community to live in and more young families wanting the life Manhattan can provide for families will help us fill that need.
