Chris Spooner is an experienced fundraising professional who jumped into healthcare philanthropy in the summer of 2022 after more than 20 years in educational fundraising.
He’s now leading the Manhattan Community Health Foundation and Wamego Hospital Foundation with his knack for building relationships and developing community support.
Back in 2014, Chris and his wife, Kari Morgan, Ph.D., moved to the area and dove into roles at Kansas State University. While Kari worked in the College of Health and Human Sciences, Chris was at the KSU Foundation, honing his skills in fundraising and community connections.
Chris is fired up about the role local hospitals play in our community. He sees healthcare providers as more than institutions – they’re the heartbeat of our neighborhood, impacting the lives of families, friends, and colleagues. His goal is to create meaningful partnerships that upgrade medical equipment, boost the healthcare workforce, and enhance patient care.
At his core, Chris is all about bringing people together and showing how their generosity can make a real difference in local healthcare.
